Back to School 2026/27!
Good afternoon Fort McMurray Catholic Schools families,
As we begin a new school year, we are delighted to welcome all of our students and families back to Fort McMurray Catholic Schools for the 2026-2027 school year. We hope your summer has been filled with opportunities to rest, reconnect with loved ones, and create lasting memories. As August draws to a close, we know many families are beginning to settle back into familiar routines, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into our schools.
Across our division, there is a wonderful sense of anticipation as staff prepare for another year of learning, growth, and faith-filled community. Our teachers, school administrators, and office teams have already returned and are busy preparing classrooms and schools for students. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our custodial and maintenance teams, whose dedication throughout the summer has ensured our learning spaces are clean, safe, and welcoming for the year ahead. We look forward to welcoming our Educational Assistants and Out of School Care staff as they return to schools on Friday.
To help your family prepare for the first day of school, we have gathered important information and resources below, including school calendars, school supply lists and other helpful reminders. We encourage you to take a few moments to review these resources to help ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year.

This is a reminder that electric bikes and personal e-scooters are subject to the requirements of Alberta’s Traffic Safety Act. These vehicles are not permitted on school sidewalks, playgrounds, or inside school buildings. They cannot be stored or parked at schools or on school property. We appreciate your support in helping us maintain safe and welcoming school environments for everyone.
We ask our families to review and be familiar with School Division policies such as:
Right to Disconnect: As we begin the new school year, we would like to gently remind our families and staff about our Right to Disconnect guidelines. We are committed to supporting the well-being of our employees and school communities. In alignment with this commitment, staff are not expected to respond to work-related matters outside of regular working hours (weekdays from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and throughout weekends).
We are excited to welcome you back and look forward to partnering with you as we begin another year of faith, learning, and service together. May God bless each of our students, families, and staff as we embark on this new school year.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6
