Middle School
Middle school students are grade 7-9 students generally between the ages of 11 and 15 years old. Our staff recognizes the unique needs of this group of learners and we carefully plan programming to support the gradual growth of independence. Grade 7 students are provided significant assistance to make an easy transition to their new bigger school and in grade 8 and 9, students are supported and encouraged to take on more responsibility and leadership so they are naturally prepared for high school. Students will take religion, language arts, math, social, science, physical education and health as required by Alberta Education. As well, students will have an opportunity to choose from a variety of options to complete their schedule.
The cornerstone to student success is the involvement of parents in this school experience.
All grade 7-8 students will be placed in a homeroom grouping and will take the following courses as a homeroom group:
- Religion
 - Language Arts
 - Mathematics
 - Social Studies
 - Science
 - Health
 - Physical Education (Except Sport Academy students)

Grade 9 is a transitional year in which students have specialist teachers and a schedule more like a high school model. There are no homerooms and students move from class to class with different peers throughout the day. While the core subjects remain year long, the Phys Ed, Health/Religion and Electives operate on a 1/2 year, semester system.
