The Father Patrick Mercredi Science & Technology Centre is an innovative project whereby students can gain hands-on, practical learning in Science & Technology related courses and subsequently make informed career decisions. Our goal is to create an environment where students can be engaged and excited in their learning realizing its relevance to possible career choices.
Our school contains High-Tech multiple-labs throughout the facility.
These new labs will give students greater exposure to Science and Mathematics in a real life context.
These labs offer programming in the following areas: ENGINEERING, INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGIES, IT ESSENTIALS & CCNA DISCOVERY, HEALTH SCIENCES, PHOTOGRAPHY, MULTI-MEDIA, JUNIOR HIGH SCIENCE
Engineering-featuring many new learning systems such as Industrial Robotics, AC/DC Electrical, CNC Programming and it was the first of it’s kind in Alberta.
Industrial Technologies-contains industrial standard training equipment together with an innovative program aligned with standards set by post-secondary institutions such as Keyano College, N.A.I.T. and S.A.I.T.
IT Essentials & Networking Academy-a high end lab using Cisco IT Essentials and Networking curriculum to prepare students for CompTIA A+ certification.
Health Sciences-using state of the art Health Science curriculum delivered using multi-media with hands-on interactive labs. Students will gain practical skills related to Nursing, Emergency Medical Response and other Medical fields.
Photography-a studio facility with high end cameras and Adobe software.
Multi-Media-redesigned for more in depth study in the areas of videography and web design.
Junior High Science Lab-containing equipment that teachers can use to demonstrate the more difficult science concepts found in their science curriculum dealing with Thermal, Electrical, Mechanical and Structural systems.
