Graphing Calculators

Graphing Calculators – High School Only (Grades 10, 11 or 12)

High School Students (Grades 10, 11 & 12) taking Mathematics 10C, 20-1, 20-2, 30-1 , 30-2 or 31 will need access to an approved Graphing calculator.

The recommended model is the Texas Instrument TI-84 Plus CE Standard Edition (Model 84PLUSCE___) which replaces the TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition (Model 84PLCLM1L1)  that has been discontinued by the company.

The former model (TI-84 Plus C Edition) will continue to be fully supported by the school and is an acceptable alternative.  However, the school cannot source it anymore from the manufacturer.  If you have a used TI-84+SEC in good working order, you should not purchasing the newer model.  You may also want to source the older model from a retailer that may still have in inventory.  Please ensure it is the correct model (TI-84 Plus or TI-84 Plus CE) .  The two models (Plus CE & Plus) are equivalent and will work fine for students.

The High Schools will have the new model Students  (Texas Instrument TI-84+CE model) in stock and available for sale at the discounted price of $151 + GST (retail cost is $178).

The learning environment is strengthened when all students are using the same or a similar calculator as models have different features. The Texas Instrument TI-84 Plus and the TI-84 Plus are approved by Alberta Education for use in writing Math Diploma exams.

Parents can also use the High School online fee payment system to order and pay for the calculator.
