Photography Lab

Our innovative lab offers hands-on learning where students will explore fundamental skills in photography.

In Photography class, students learn the fundamentals of photography and digital imaging.  This course is part of the Communication Technologies strand of the Media, Design and Communication Arts cluster of the CTS curriculum.

The photography classes are divided into three levels.

At level 1 students will learn Visual Composition, Media, Graphic Tools, Photography Introduction, Exposure and Digital Processing.

At level 2 students will learn Media Impact, Raster Graphic 1, Composition, Communication, Darkroom Techniques and Lenses.

At level 3 students will learn Raster Graphic 2, Photojournalism, Color, B/W Techniques, Outdoor, Digital Processing 2 and COM Project E.

Students enrolled in photography courses will have access to SLR digital cameras, tripods and a variety of lenses.  Students must be prepared to spend time planning, collecting and preparing subjects for images.

Students will practice their skills by completing a variety of photographic assignments at home and school.
