Santas Anonymous is a charitable organization that gathers various food, clothing and toy items in order to prepare personalized donation packages, referred to as hampers, to be donated to the appropriate needy families in the Fort McMurray community during the Christmas season.
The concept began in the 1950’s when a local Catholic priest, Father Beauregard, delivered toys, clothing and food for disadvantaged families in the community. Then in 1961, the Kinsmen Club, a local fraternity, assumed complete responsibility for this project. However, the need to provide greater assistance for the less fortunate people of our community quickly rose and in 1985 the Kinsmen Club approached Father Patrick Mercredi High School for additional manpower and resources.
This partnership has resulted in many successful years of preparing countless hampers for the under-privileged families of Fort McMurray and the surrounding areas.
If you wish to be involved, know that any help is more than welcome as we are in constant need of additional resources. Students along with teacher advisors are the main component of the various teams mentioned above. Join early and gain valuable experience while providing a necessary service to our community..
The organization is a unique opportunity to share your skills, talents and personality, as well as volunteering countless hours for the good of your community.
The Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs of Fort McMurray represent a vital segment of Santas Anonymous and also value the input of new enthusiastic and dedicated members.
