2016 Admission Guide

Admission Week

The admission procedures at Father Mercredi High School for registered students is done on a drop-in basis starting on Monday 22 August until Friday 1st September.   However, the school will be closed for admission on Thursday 25 August and Friday 26 August as we host our convocation and graduation ceremonies for our June 2016 graduating class.  The school office will be open from 8:00 am to 4 pm.   


Payment of Fees during Admission Week

Parents can prepay their school fees, purchase a school lock and graphing calculator (if required), request Yellow Bus Transportation (if eligible) and pay their annual transportation fees using the 2016/2017 School Fees and Transportation Web Payment System.  

This will streamline the admission procedures and reduce the wait time.  Computers in the library will also be available to pay fees at the school.  If you prefer not to pay by credit card,  payment by Cash or Debit (Interac) can also be made in person at the school.


New Students

New students to Fort McMurray Catholic Schools can register online here  or drop in at the Student Service Department starting on August 22nd.  All new students will meet with a guidance counsellor prior to admission.  


Grade 7 students transferring from a Fort McMurray Catholic Elementary School are not required to re-register. A Grade 7 Orientation and BBQ will be held on Friday 1st September  starting at 10 am and ending at 12:30 pm. Please meet in the Cafeteria. We will also be having a Welcome Back Session for parents at the same time in the front atrium. Please come by for a coffee, a chance to meet our Father Mercredi Admin Team and have all your questions/concerns addressed.


High School Transportation Services

Transportation Services for High School Students is provided using a combination of Yellow School Bus and City Transit depending on the grade level, program and location.  Please refer to the High School Transportation Page for details.

Students eligible for Yellow Bus Service must complete a transportation request form at least seven (7) days prior to the commencement of service. For service in the first week of school, the request form must be submitted on or before Noon on August 30th, 2016.  Please read the High School Transportation Page to determine if you are eligible for Yellow Bus Service.

Schedules

The first day back for students is Tuesday 6 September.  High School Schedules will be available for pick up by Grade Level in our Front Atrium. Middle School Students will report directly to their homerooms. Homeroom Lists will be posted in various locations around the school.
